We see so many beautiful photo sessions on Instagram, Pinterest, etc taken in breathtaking locations! Its so easy to want to emulate that in our own sessions. But the key is, with the right photographer, you can make almost any location a beautiful spot for you photos.

Not everyone can or wants to get married on a gorgeous mountain cliff in Yosemite or on the coast by the ocean. By carefully choosing a photographer who takes time to find the perfect spots at the venue/location you choose you can easily achieve gorgeous photos.

When helping my couples brainstorm locations or venues the first thing I recommend is choosing locations that mean something to you as a couple! Not only will the location document your love story but the feelings you have by being back at a place that means something to you shows through your photos.

Though don't be discouraged if a special location doesn't come to mind or stands out. Maybe in your case there is a location you've always dreamed of getting married in or having as a backdrop to your session. As long as it means something special to you thats what matters.
